What to do before you come in
Gather
First, make sure you have everything. W-2 usually come out between late January and the first week of February. Employers must mail them by January 31st. Collect all your other documents, click here to see what you should be gathered.
Organize
Organizing receipts are something all tax preparers dislike doing, and so do tax preparers. Bags of receipts, shoeboxes, and envelopes are better than no receipts. The better organized you are, the faster we can get your return filed. Your organization will also, save you money. You can pay me to figure out how your receipts should be organized or you can sort them before you come in.
